Universal Credit Information Session for Employment Support Allowance Claimants

An online information session about the move to Universal Credit will take place on Thursday, 10th July 2025 at 4pm via online. It is aimed at Hackney residents currently claiming Employment Support Allowance (ESA), as well as organisations and professionals who support them.

The session, organised by Hackney Council, will feature Kristina Balciunaite from the Citizens' Advice Bureau's Help to Claim service, who will explain the migration process and the support available.

This is part of the Department for Work and Pensions' ongoing effort to move people from legacy benefits, like Working Tax Credits and Income Support to Universal Credit.

Over the coming months, residents claiming Employment Support Allowance in Hackney will be migrated over to Universal Credit.
